What to Bring
Booking a trip with us? Here is exactly what we provide, what you should pack, and what to leave at the condo. Focus on the fishing. We handle the rest.
- Heavy-duty shark rods and reels: custom land-based setups we designed in partnership with Okuma USA
- Terminal tackle: our shark-specific leaders, 800 lb mono backed with 800 lb cable bite section
- Fresh bait: bonito, stingray, jack crevalle, and whatever else is hot that day
- Kayak for bait deployment, we paddle baits 200 to 800 yards offshore
- Four zero-gravity beach chairs for your group
- Fighting harness and sand spike, easy enough for kids and adults to handle
- An experienced guide. Our crew handles all rigging, bait prep, fish handling, and release
Sun protection
- Reef-safe sunscreen, SPF 50 or higher
- Wide-brim hat or fishing cap
- Polarized sunglasses
- Long-sleeve UV shirt or rash guard
Clothing and footwear
- Quick-dry shorts or board shorts
- A warmer layer if you are out at night
- Sandals or water shoes
- Light rain jacket. Florida weather flips fast
- Change of clothes for the ride home
Food and drinks
- Cooler with plenty of water and sports drinks
- Snacks and a meal so nobody gets hangry
- Beer or other drinks are welcome. Drink responsibly
- No glass on the beach
Other essentials
- Phone or GoPro, charged for photos and video
- Portable charger or battery pack
- Beach towels
- Bug spray. Sand gnats and mosquitoes show up at dusk
- Any personal medications
- Cash for guide gratuity, or Venmo / Cash App works too
- Your Florida saltwater fishing license if you are 16 or older
- Your own fishing gear. Our equipment is rigged specifically for land-based shark fishing and we handle all the setup
- Valuables. Sand, salt, and surf will wreck electronics and jewelry
- Bad attitudes. Shark fishing takes patience. Sometimes the bite is instant, sometimes it takes hours, sometimes the big one shows up at hour seven
Arrive on time. At the start of the trip we walk through safety, the gear, and the plan for the day.
Eat before you come. You will need the energy. A good meal in advance and steady snacking through the day keeps everyone sharp.
Hydrate constantly. Florida heat and sun exposure are no joke. Drink water even when you do not feel thirsty.
Wear clothes you do not mind getting dirty. Bait, sand, and saltwater do not care about your nice shirt. Leave the good stuff at the condo.
Bring a sense of adventure. You are fishing for apex predators from the beach. Bulls, blacktips, and spinners are all legal to catch, and the protected sharks you might run into, like hammerheads, lemons, and tigers, are kept in the water and released without delay. In January 2026 we caught and released an 1,800-pound great white shark right from the sand.
Trips start at $1,200 and include everything you need for a real shark fishing experience. Call us at (251) 689-0309 or head to our contact page to reserve. We fish Pensacola Beach, Navarre Beach, Perdido Key, Orange Beach, and the rest of the panhandle coast.
