CBS News (CBS12): Great White Shark Caught from Shore at Pensacola Beach

In January 2026, Coastal Worldwide founders Dylan Wier and Blaine Kenny landed a great white shark from the sand at Pensacola Beach, which researchers estimated at about 1,800 pounds and thirteen feet six inches. The catch was featured on CBS News and named both founders by name as the crew responsible. The shark was tagged, photographed, and released alive under FWC catch-and-release shark fishing regulations.

WKRG: Great White Shark Catch Pensacola ("Fourpeat")

Coastal Worldwide helped Okuma design its land-based shark fishing rod and reel line, drawing on 12 years of beach shark fishing experience to specify the gear that handles the largest sharks landed from shore. Those are the same rods and reels every Coastal Worldwide trip fishes with today.
